    The Mito hollyhock was established in 1990. The name of the team when it was founded was Prima Aseno FC, which was later renamed Tsuchi Hama Ham FC. In 1996, the regional league finals rose to JFL. In 1997, due to the withdrawal of its company Prima, the team merged with the FC Mito. Named after the Mito hollyhock, the name of the team Hollyhock is the home of the Tokugawa family of the Edo period, which can be interpreted as a sunflower in English.
